ShareASale parameter

What is the urllink parameter?

urllink is ShareASale's shareasale deep-link destination. urllink carries the deep-link destination in classic ShareASale r.cfm links (note: often without the https:// prefix). Decoding it lets you audit whether the destination page still exists — the most common ShareASale failure after program migration.

Where it appears

In the affiliate link you publish

Example

https://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=123&u=456&m=789&urllink=merchant.com%2Fproducts%2Fitem

If urllink is missing

Without urllink the link lands on the merchant’s default page instead of your intended product — attribution survives, conversion rate doesn’t.

How ShareASale tracking fits together

Classic ShareASale links run through shareasale.com/r.cfm (or m.cfm / u.cfm) with your user ID (u), the merchant ID (m), and optionally a urllink deep-link destination. On click, ShareASale sets its sscid tracking cookie and redirects.

With the Awin merger, merchants progressively move to Awin’s infrastructure. Old ShareASale links for a migrated merchant may redirect without crediting you, or land on a "merchant not found" page.
