What is the camref parameter?
camref is Partnerize's partnerize campaign reference. camref is Partnerize’s tracking ID, and its quirk is location: it lives in the URL PATH as a /camref:XXXX/ segment, not a query parameter. Any tool — or person — checking only query strings will wrongly conclude a Partnerize link has "no tracking".

A mangled camref (CMSes love breaking the colon syntax) means the click cannot be attributed to your partnership — while the redirect may still work perfectly.
How Partnerize tracking fits together
Partnerize encodes tracking as path segments: /click/camref:XXXX/destination:URL. The camref identifies your partnership; the destination segment carries the target page. On click, Partnerize registers the event and redirects.
Because everything is path-encoded, naive link checkers that parse query parameters see "no tracking parameters" and either false-alarm or skip validation. A Partnerize-aware checker parses the path segments.
