Refersion parameter
What is the rfsn parameter?
rfsn is Refersion's refersion tracking code. rfsn is the entire attribution mechanism for Refersion programs: your link is just the merchant URL plus rfsn, read by the Refersion snippet on the store. Merchant-side redirects that strip query strings kill these links silently — the page loads perfectly and pays nothing.
Where it appears
In your link AND it must survive to the final page
Example
https://merchant-store.com/products/item?rfsn=1234567.abcdefIf rfsn is missing
For Refersion, a missing rfsn IS a broken link: there is no network hop to fall back on — the parameter must reach a page running the merchant’s Refersion script, or no attribution happens at all.
How Refersion tracking fits together
Refersion is installed on the merchant’s own store (commonly Shopify). Your affiliate link is simply the store URL with an rfsn parameter; the Refersion snippet on the page reads it and sets the attribution cookie.
No network hop means no network error pages — and no safety net. The link’s health is entirely a function of the merchant page being live and the Refersion install still running on it.
