AvantLink parameter
What is the avad parameter?
avad is AvantLink's avantlink click id. avad is appended to the merchant URL when AvantLink registers your click. Because AvantLink often redirects via JavaScript, avad on the destination is the cleanest signal that the full chain — including the JS hop — executed for real visitors.
Where it appears
Appended to the merchant URL after the redirect
Example
https://merchant.com/product?avad=123456_a7bc9de2fIf avad is missing
AvantLink registers clicks at its click.php hop; a missing avad on the final URL is not proof of failure. Check your AvantLink dashboard for the test click.
How AvantLink tracking fits together
AvantLink deep links pass through avantlink.com/click.php with the destination in the url parameter. The redirect to the merchant frequently happens client-side via JavaScript, and the merchant URL receives an avad tracking parameter.
That JS redirect is why AvantLink links generate so many false "broken" reports: HTTP-only checkers never leave avantlink.com. Afterlink extracts the embedded destination and verifies it directly, so working links pass and dead destinations still get caught.
